Iphone/Ipad n-back application
Hey Guys,

I plan on writing an application for the iPhone/iPad that offers various n-back tests to improve ones working memory. I realize there are already a couple of applications out there that offer n-back tests, but they seem rather unpolished and graphically dull. I will be releasing the application for free and Im interested in what features you guys would like to see in a n-back mobile app (e.g. Progress tracking, Online high scores, Binaural beats and any variation of the n-back test that you guys particularly like). Lastly, could I encounter legal issues if I replicate the tests used in past working memory studies?

Many Thanks In advance,
Yves.

You could sell additional skins and modes as DLS ;)

When is this program coming out? Im interested as well, you got a website?

That would be awesome. I would personally donate for your time to make this application. I encourage you to do so for the ipad and to sell it for 2 bucks.

If you keep the interface, clean and pretty and some nice history tracking, I would pay for it! Others would as well.

A great feature would be:
1. From Amateur to Master:
A step by step leveling session. Start with 1 n-back just audio. Then 1 n-back just visual. Then 1 n-back with both. Etc..etc...So far I have to manually teach myself every simple level.

Thank guys for your kind words and suggestions. I think a main aspect of the app will be about making the tests less dull. This means I will include some means of progress tracking, like you said from amateur to master. I want to add a game feel to it, say you could earn various achievements and compare scores to friends which introduces some competition into the game. I also want to focus on implementing some "eye candy" graphics, because it seems to me this is what all n-back apps lack. If your going to stare at the same exercise for a couple of minutes it should look interesting and engaging. If your interested in my previous work on iDevices you could check this out: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/drums-deluxe-hd/id417508370?mt=8

Anyhow, id like to create a thread at some forum (this one doesn't seam very active :( ) Where I can post progress and People can request features do you guys know of any popular brain/working memory training forums? I could create a blog or something but it would be more time consuming to make people aware of it than making a popular forum thread.

Thanks again for getting back to me :)

I would also recommend that the response buttons could be set by user: right and left button for audio and visual optionally.
