n-backing during life and long term memory
Hi. i think n-backing is brilliant. I myself have comprehension difficulties in reading newspapers, listening to conversations etc. i was just wondering if any people kindof n-back purposefully through everyday life? Would reading a short paragraph out of a book and then sitting back for a while trying to remember all of the points made exercise your working memory? and on to the next paragraph and so on continually? or watching a match and whenever there is a break in play, try to remember in detail everything that has just happened? continually. and after the match try and sum up the match in your mind? kind of like an n-backing strategy for life situations. i just want to know what people think about this, because i think it really works for me and just want to let others know
as well i like to, before going to sleep, recall all the events of the day to improve long term memory, aswell as recalling memories of days, 2 or 3 weeks before, and even memories from years ago down to the finest detail possible.
i just think that they are practical exercises for your memory, and when i was lookin around cognitivefun for hours at a time a few months ago, i liked reading about practical advice from others.
theres an interesting chapter from the book "Secrets of Mental Supremacy" that puts practical advice simply. heres a link http://www.psitek.net/pages/PsiTekSOMS7.html
