If you mean whether the results from these tests produce a universally applicable metric, then no. While these are often used as standard metrics, there are always exceptions. Nevertheless, even for exceptions, the methods and results are informative and useful.

The only way to know whether your XYZ score is up, is by taking the XYZ test, right? :)
Remember, though, IQ only measures some components of "intelligence" -- someone's IQ is not actually their intelligence in entirety.

I remember once reading somewhere that others' estimates of your IQ are pretty accurate. Maybe if your friends tell you that you 'seem much brighter than you were last week,' then it could be working.
Not that I've ever heard this said about anybody.
