More organizational changes coming
More organizational changes coming
As the front page already shows 7 tests, this is well over the average visual short term memory size of 4 items. What this means, is if a new user scrolls down to the bottom of the front page, they already forgot what they saw at the top! Presented with all these choices, what would they do? What are they here for? Do they want to learn something about how their brain works? How it processes things slower/faster under the influence of distractors? Are hoping to expand their memory capacity? All these different goals mean they shouldn't have to wade through a long list of tests, and as more tests are added, there clearly needs to be smarter organization.
Before this happens, it would be hard to add more tests directly to the front page: even if there is a pagination system, if there are 14 tests, then in the stats page, there would be a confusing 14 links, not counting the sub-choices within them! Before the new organization is in place, at least the front page should look plain, clear, and easily navigable.
Finally, the Aberdeen theme had to change because this site no longer runs Drupal code. The previous theme was Drupal-driven, but its licensing restrictions would create complications if Drupal was taken apart just for its theming system.
